We promised more cures to the Summertime Blues and boy do we have them! Check it out —

Centerville Pie Co. will be at the Bourne Scallop Festival this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (21st-23rd)! We’ll be selling pie slices Friday and Saturday (10 am to 9:30 pm) and Sunday (10am to 6pm). Come look for us outside the tent and enjoy a piece of pie! All berry, apple, key lime and more! We’d love for you to pick up a slice and say hi!

Also — our fruit pies are now available at The Berry Guys Farm Stand in Carver, MA. Stop by, say hi to the Berry Guys enjoy all of their fresh fruits, vegetables and deli and pick up a Centerville Pie Company fruit pie to go!

And last but not least, a customer called yesterday to say that she had picked up a chicken pie at the Brewster General Store. She has made her own pies for years and WILL NEVER MAKE A CHICKEN PIE AGAIN! Linda loved our pies and has told all of her friends how packed full of chicken our pies our. With so much going on, there’s hardly time to mourn the end of summer. We have plenty to look forward to as the first day of Autumn nears so stay tuned!

Fall – Looking forward

So Summer may not officially be over yet, but here at Centerville Pie, we’re starting to say goodbye to the tourists and the heat and looking forward to any pie company’s most important season – FALL! We hope you’ll come by our shop to check out the return our delicious Pumpkin Pie and the new changes the Fall will bring in the next few weeks! In the mood for Pecan Pie anyone?? Stay tuned for great new and returning pies – both desert and savory! Now that the traffic on the bridges is starting to clear, the temperatures are slowly starting to decrease, and all of the kiddies are back in school… it may be the end of summer, but the beginning of lots going on here at Centerville Pie Company!

I was in Cape Cod for a day visiting from LA. I actually never really heard of this small local joint until I did some foodie search via Yelp and found out Oprah listed their Chicken Pot Pie as one of her FAVORITE THINGS 2 years in a row. I figure if it’s good enough for Oprah, it’s good enough for me and so I took my mom to eat lunch here.

Upon entering, you realize it is a small local restaurant with very limited seating. We got seated right away. It wasn’t packed with tourist but more with locals…mainly older locals. I didn’t mind. It’s nice to find a diamond in the rough where it isn’t always fully packed and you have to wait an hour. They have a ton of choices including your basic breakfast items and other stuff but I came in here for the pies and only the pies.

We ordered their famous Chicken Pot Pie as well as their Shepherd’s Pie. I’m not a fan of either on any given day but their pies just converted me instantly with one bite! It was simply amazing! So rich with flavor and made with homemade love. It was delicious and both my mom and I were super impressed with their pies. I wish I could have tried them all!

We also got their Cape Cod Krunch Pie which was perfect! Not overly sweet like most pies can be.

The owners were super nice and I even chatted with them for a few minutes. Service was great and fast. Price is super reasonable for the quality of the pies you are getting. I hope and pray that one day they somehow branch out and serve their pies closer to Southern California. If not, then I guess one day I’ll have to make another trip to Cape Cod for their wonderful pies. I loved it so damn much!

Last Weekend of Summer…

As born and bred Cape Codders, Labor Day marks the end of beach days, watermelon, sunscreen, and summer vacation. Fortunately, there are still some valuable days left until the unofficial end of Summer. Planning a cookout? A family get together? A neighborhood block party? Don’t show up empty handed! There is nothing better to complete any of these events than one of our LOBSTER PIE’S! Filled with moist lobster meat, lobster bisque and topped with Ritz crackers. Pair that with some Cape Cod Beer and YUM! A great end to a great few months. Enjoy! Oh– Don’t forget dessert!! Peach pie perhaps? How about strawberry rhubarb? Our vote– one of each!

My husband and I had the pleasure of having lunch at your restaurant this
past saturday and thought it was wonderful! (We’re the couple that you
thought left after ordering – but instead went next door to shop for
pies). My down syndrome sister will be coming in this week for lunch.

So excited to be a part of the Joe Cronin Tournament to benefit the Jimmy Fund!

Tomorrow we’ll be greeting all of the anglers at the Joe Cronin fishing tournament’s Captain’s Dinner with … well, you guessed it… Pie! We’re very proud to be a part of such a great cause. For those of you who don’t know, the Joe Cronin Memorial Jimmy Fund Fishing Tournament is an annual fishing competition in Osterville, Massachusetts which benefits the Jimmy Fund. Anglers from all over the Cape fish, donate their boats, host other fisherman, and donate time and money to this weekend long event. Tomorrow we’ll be providing dessert to the anglers and their guests at the beautiful Nauticus Marina. We are so pleased to be able to contribute to this great cause and be a part of such a monumental fundraiser here on Cape Cod. We look forward to meeting and greeting everyone tomorrow, and good luck to the anglers this weekend!

“It’s great to be able to support a local, service-based operation, in this case one that, in turn, supports the independence of people with challenging disabilities. One of their strongest AB-ilities is pie-baking! We’ve tried nearly all of their multiple offerings, everything from the reliably classic chicken pot pie (complete with a free container of super gravy) through the seasonally-offered lobster pie — the latter a triumph, full of tender lobster meat and supremely tasty. They also offer their own “frequent buyer” card, the reward being a free breakfast at their own next door diner. Though not inexpensive, these pies not only support a great cause, they are terrific in their own right”

lobster pie

What kind of Cape Codders would we be if we didn’t come up with a fantastic lobster treat this summer?! You have got to try this one… packed with lobster meat, lobster bisque, and topped with Ritz cracker crumbles. We’ve had lots of fun making and testing this creation, therefore, it comes highly recommended from our staff as well! Call ahead to make sure we have them in the store, we’ll set one aside just for you to wow your dinner guests with. But hurry! Like summer, it’ll only be available for a few more weeks… so when the tourists leave, the traffic dissipates, and the kiddies go back to school, this pie too will be gone for good (unless it’s in popular demand!).

A Good Day of Golf for a Great Cause

Our PRO golfers participated in Cape Abilities annual golf tournament fundraiser earlier this week and boy did they have a ball! The Pie Ladies were accompanied by friends Amy and Pam and they hit the beautiful Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster to benefit a cause near and dear to our hearts here at Centerville Pie. To add to the excitement, there were even artists on the green as they drove around painting beautiful pieces of art available for sale at the auction later that day. Pie Lady Kristin won “Closest to the Pin!” Way to go Kristin!
